At low water the bay emptied out for half a mile, and the boys walked out across the ribbed sand to where the wreck showed its ribs twice a month. Their father had told them not to. Their father had told them a great many things, most of which the tide had since disproved.
It would be neat to end on a verdict. Life, and this subject, decline to cooperate, and we have let them.
